It is extremely likely that Blizzards new game will incorporate eSports. In South Korea games are regularly broadcast on TV. Blizzard are really pushing for this mainstream adoption of Esports in the West. It's a massive money making opportunity just waiting to explode, and Blizzard want to be there at the heart of it all.

In order to make a successful eSports game, each playable character will need to be balanced against each other. This has been a big problem for Blizzards other MMO, World of Warcraft. Nearly every patch the classes have to be rebalanced because of the new gear they have got access to from PvE. One way Blizzard could solve this problem, is to significantly reduce the importance of PvE in character improvement. That doesn't mean removing PvE, what it means is that a different system could be used rather than killing a boss and looting an item that improves your characters stats.

One soon to be released game, shows the kind of thing I think we can expect to see from Blizzard, that game is Global Agenda.

Jeff Kaplan and Rob Pardo, both involved in the development of Blizzards next-gen MMO, were spotted at E3 showing a particular interest in Global Agenda. They wont have just turned up to have a look for some fun, they were on a mission to see what their competitors are up to.
